Code of Conduct

UXSG is committed to providing a welcome and harassment-free environment for everyone at the conference. We’ve created this page not because we expect bad behaviour from our community, but because we believe a clear code of conduct is a necessary part of building a safe community space.

Be a nice human

Whether you attend UXSG Conference 2016 as an attendee, speaker, sponsor, partner or volunteer, we expect you to conduct yourself in accordance with these principles:

  • Be considerate and respectful of other cultures, backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Refrain from offensive verbal comments, whether in person or online. This includes but isn’t limited to: Gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, sustained disruption of talks or other events, deliberate intimidation, stalking, unwanted photography or recording, inappropriate physical contact, use of sexual/discriminatory images or jokes, and unwelcome sexual attention.
  • Avoid clothing or exhibits with sexualised images, activities or other material.
  • Take care of each other by alerting a UXSG volunteer if you see someone being harassed, speaking up against an inappropriate comment or supporting those on the receiving end of bad behaviour.
Seek help when needed

Please contact a UXSG volunteer any time via email ([email protected]) or in person – we’ll be in UXSG t-shirts.

UXSG does not tolerate harassment in any form and we’ll do whatever is necessary to keep our events safe and respectful for participants. Such action may include warning the offender, removing the offender from the conference without refund, and contacting the police.

Thanks for helping us make the UXSG community a safe space.
